Our Oceania Northwest members comprise of Indigenous Oceanians who are intergenerational, queer inclusive, multi-lingual, sons, daughters, mothers, fathers and are proud stewards of the cultural heritages of Moana.

Why Oceania Northwest?
Oceanians from the three regions of Oceania - Melanesia, Micronesia & Polynesia, are the fastest growing communities in the Pacific Northwest. Most have settled in King, Pierce, Snohomish & Thurston counties. Washington state has the second biggest Pacific Islander diasporic community living in North America.
Oceanians have experienced some of the harshest realities of colonization, hyper-militarization, and cultural assimilationist policies enforced on them by non-Native settlers that has lead to the displacement of Native Islanders from Oceania and now comprise the Pasifika Diaspora in North America.
Oceania Northwest contains the brilliance birthed from the cultural and spiritual DNA of our people to combat racist systems of oppression and offer up meaningful solutions that mitigate poverty, improve socio-cultural welfare and organize our people to stand in power.
Pacific Islanders belong. Pacific Islander issues are important. Pacific Islander people are beautiful. Pacific Islander children are brilliant. Pacific Islander Indigenous values are sacred. Oceania Northwest is fully committed to embodying these belief statements for all those who are a part of our villages.

Our Mission
Oceania Northwest equips Pacific Islanders and other most impacted communities through leading community health initiatives, creating village healing spaces, and offering meaningful social and economic stabilization support.

Our Vision
We uplift the power of unity in Pasifika communities to build thriving networks of care for generations to come. We are here.
We do not believe in cancel culture. We are rooted instead in Indigenous cycles of relational restoration and healing.

Unity
Our Values encapsulate our essence: UNITY binds us as one people, one soul, one destiny. While we respect the unique lived experiences each member, we move together in unison.

Hospitality
HOSPITALITY ensures all are embraced in our village's warm embrace. In our village, no one is marginalized or canceled but lovingly affirmed in the inherent dignity they carry.

Belonging
In our community, BELONGING is as vast as the ocean. There is room for everyone to be rooted in love and in community.

Respect
RESPECT is the thread weaving our intergenerational nets. We believe in respect between our elders and youth, between our women, men and queer folks, and between those of differing cultural & faith traditions.

Heritage
Our Indigenous Oceanian HERITAGE guides us with ancestral wisdom as we journey forward here in the US Pasifika Diaspora.

Oceania Northwest acknowledges that we live and work on stolen Coast Salish land. We recognize the land stewardship of all Indigenous people since time immemorial and the disruption of this work by white colonization. We are aligned to efforts in supporting Indigenous sovereignty in the Pacific Northwest as we also fight for Indigenous sovereignty over our home, Oceania.
