Kava, or 'ava/yaqona/sakau is a sacred plant of Oceania that is prepared ceremonially by many Pacific Islanders to reinforce kinship, social connections and to transmit sacred wisdom from one generation to the next. Kava is also used for coronations of paramount chiefs and other sacred roles in Oceania. Here in the Diaspora, we practice inu kava to maintain our cultural teachings of 'ofa, alofa, aloha & loloma. Inu Kava strengthen loving connections especially with our Pacific Islander young men. Oceania NW patners with Kalapu Northwest, Kalapu Kolo 'Emalata & Kalapu Uso Alofa to maintain a fraternity of love and a place where our young men go to for cultural and social bonding.
