Kava, 'ava, 'awa, yaqona, or sakau is a sacred plant of Oceania that is prepared ceremonially by many Pacific Islanders to reinforce kinship, social connections and to transmit sacred wisdom from one generation to the next. Kava is used for hospitality rituals, coronation ceremonies of paramount chiefs and also for other special celebrations in Oceania. Oceania NW patners with Kalapu Northwest and Kalapu Kolo 'Emalata to maintain a fraternity of love where our young men go to for cultural and social bonding.
